About CANDEO HOTELS

What is the meaning of "Candeo"?
The word "candeo" means “to shine or glow” in Latin.
Is there a public bath?
Most of our hotels offer large public baths on the top level of the hotel called SkySpa, which include open-air baths with a view. 
*Please note that there are no public baths at the Ueno-Koen and The Hakata Terrace hotels. Please also note that the public baths at the Candeo Hotels Chiba is on the 6th floor, not the top floor.
In addition, some hotels have a layer of film on the windows of SkySpa to protect your privacy.

All of our hotels provide free Wi-Fi.
Our guest rooms also feature Simmons beds that provide the perfect night's sleep, a television, a refrigerator, air conditioning and a bathroom. (Please note that certain bathrooms may only have showers and not bathtubs. Also, certain rooms may have the bathroom and toilet separated.)
What type of breakfast is offered?
With a theme of a healthy breakfast that is gentle on the body, we offer buffets with a wide variety of menus including Japanese dishes such as freshly cooked rice and miso soup, Western dishes such as bread and soup, fruits and desserts.

The hotel's breakfast is served buffet.
In the kitchen, various menus are prepared with the same cooking utensils.
In addition, because dishes are washed in the same place and in the same washing machine, the possibility of allergen contamination cannot be denied, so the menu for customers with food allergies given priority to customer safety We do not respond to the creation of allergies and allergy list.

About Online Booking

Is the cost of bookings on your website per person or per room?
Bookings are made per room and costs will include Japanese consumption tax. There is no service fees from booking via our website.
I'm not sure if my booking I made through your website was successful. Is there a way to check?
You can check your booking details by visiting the "Confirm/Change Booking" page at the top of our official website, and entering your reservation number and email address.
If you do not know your reservation number or an error message is displayed, there may have been a communication error so we ask that you directly contact the hotel you wish to make your booking at to confirm.
When will I receive my booking confirmation email?
This email should be received to the email address you have provided us immediately after booking. The subject of the email will state it is in relation to confirming your booking.
If you do not receive this email after 30 minutes, we ask that you contact the hotel by phone.
What should I do if I want to change the schedule and contents of my booking?
You can change a booking via your membership page or via the "Confirm/Change Booking" page that can be found at the top of our official website.
If you receive a message indicating that your booking could not be changed, we ask that you contact the hotel by phone. 
There may be situations where we cannot change a booking due to the availability of other rooms. Also, please note that even when selecting the same room type for the same period of time, the price of your updated booking may not be the same as your original booking.​ ​
Is it possible that there will be an opening for a booking on a day that is currently fully booked?
Yes, this is possible. However, we ask that you contact the hotel directly by phone for these inquiries. 
*We may not offer waiting lists for rooms depending on certain scheduling. For more information, please contact the hotel directly.

About Becoming a Member

Is there any other way to become a member outside of through your website?
You can also apply in person when staying at one of our hotels.
There will be an application form available at the front desk or in your room. Simply provide all the necessary information and submit it to the front desk.
Your application will be processed by the day after you check out, and you will be able to access your online membership page via the email address you provide us and with a temporary password you will receive. Please ensure to change your temporary password after logging in.
Please note that if applying for membership when currently staying at one of our hotels, you will begin receiving points and rewards from the next time you make a booking. (Although, you will receive 100 points for becoming a member.) We recommend you become a member via our website when making your initial booking so you can immediately make use of our services.
Can I join even if I don't plan to make a booking at your hotel yet?
Of course. You can become a member at any time.
Are there any registration fees or membership costs?
Our membership program is completely free.
How can I change my personal information (name, address, etc.) after I have joined?
This can be changed yourself by accessing the "Confirm/Change Member Information” page from your membership page.
I get an error message when I try to log in. What should I do?
We ask that you contact our hotel by phone or email.
When contacting us by email, please be sure to include your full name as you have provided in your member information.
What should I do if I didn't receive a confirmation email after joining?
There may be some situations where an email is not sent due to a system failure. Regardless, you should be able to log into your My Page with your registered email address and password even without receiving an email. You should also be able to make bookings as a member.

About the Loyalty Program

Can I only receive special offers through your website when booking?
Yes, only bookings made through the Candeo Hotels website are eligible for special offers.
Any reservations made on other websites such as Rakuten Travel or Jalan will not be eligible.
Can I receive a CLUB CANDEO membership card?
We not longer provide membership cards as of the end of May 2019.
What happens to my points if I cancel a booking?
These points will not be awarded.
Can you tell me how your points system works?
Points will be provided the day after checking out from one of our hotels.
When am I able to leave a review for my stay?
You will be able to leave a review from the day after checking out from one of our hotels.
Can I receive points for using the SkySpa or the breakfast restaurant at a hotel without staying overnight?
Points are only awarded when you have a booking to stay at one of our hotels.
When I had booked a plan including breakfast and arrived at the front desk, I was told that I had become a platinum member and would receive a free breakfast.
In this situation, can I receive some kind of refund or cash back for the cost of my breakfast?
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are unable to provide this kind of refund.
I forgot my password and cannot log in to my membership page. What should I do?
There will be a link on the login page for people who have forgotten their password. Please visit this link and complete the process to receive a new temporary password.

Other Questions (FAQ)

Can I ask for an extra bed?
Sorry, we are unable to provide extra beds.
In some hotels, the sofa may be used as an extra bed. For more information, please visit the individual pages of our hotels.
Can I share a bed with my child?
Children under the age of 6 (preschoolers) can share a bed with you at The Singulari Hotel & SkySpa at Universal Studios Japan. At our other hotels, the children under the age of 12 (up to elementary school) can share the available bedding in the room for no extra charge. (This does not include the cost of eating at our Breakfast Buffets.)
Please note that the number of people who can sleep in a room depends on the type of room and the hotel. For more details, please visit the individual websites of our hotels or contact them directly.
Can pets stay in guest rooms?
We do not allow any pets to stay at our hotel. We also do not provide any services to look after pets.
If you use a service dog such as a seeing-eye dog, please inform us when making a booking.
Do I need to contact the hotel if I am running late?
If you check-in after midnight or are running more than 1 hour late for check-in, please contact the hotel you will be staying at.
If you are unable to contact us, we may cancel your booking and give the room you have booked to other customers.
